Homes for Troops

One of the coolest things I've gotten to do in a while is watch more than 100 volunteers, most New York City firemen, come together to build a home for a wounded Marine and his wife over three 90-degree days.

Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood

Probably my favorite thing about this job is getting to learn a little bit about a lot of things. It's like being on an episode of Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood every day. I'm pretty sure Mr. Rogers never took us on a brewery tour, but it was still cool to go to Flying Fish today and see the brewmasters at work.

Outside

Bill Dougher uses 15 minutes of his lunch break every day to go fishing. "I didn't catch anything. But that's not what it's about. It's just about being out here." Amen.

Spring Awakening

Wow. So I had some health problems and was out of work for two weeks and have generally felt lousy for the last month, all of which is a lame excuse for why I have not updated in so long. But it's impossible to feel bad when it's 70 degrees outside, so I'm getting my act together and hopefully will be posting much more regularly.
